Description
The project addresses the need to develop the NGO sector in Tundja Municipality and boost the applicant’s financial and organizational sustainability and capacity. First, 10 NGOs will be identified to join the project. 15 members of the 10 NGOs will be trained in self-assessment, strategic planning and fundraising. Second, working visits will be paid to other NGOs to exchange experience and good practices. Third, the NGOs will identify a cause of public importance and present it to 2000 local citizens. Fourth, 30 stakeholders will take part in the municipal conference on cooperation between the local authorities, the business and NGOs. Finally, the NGOs will present their work and outcomes to the local community at the NGO Fair. The project will benefit the NGO sector, local NGOs, the local community, authorities and businesses.
Summary of project results
The project’s objectives were fully reached and the NGO sector in Tundzha municipality has been strengthened through the following outcomes – - 17 participants of 10 local NGOs were trained and their competence was improved for working in the NGO sector; - Improved interactions between NGOs, other local institutions and citizens; - Increased civic activity among the local citizens. The project delivered the following outputs - - Development of: self-evaluation cards for NGOs, ethical code and strategic plans; - Implementation of 10 working meetings with 32 participants; - 3 socially-significant causes were chosen; the work on the realization of these causes started and presented to more than 2000 local people; - 34 people took part in discussing the different forms of interaction between the local authorities, businesses, and NGOs; - 5 agreements between local NGOs were signed; - 20 NGOs were introduced to 2000 citizens. - Published project materials reached around 3000 people. The main beneficiaries of the project were: 36 representatives of NGOs from Tundzha municipality, 8 representatives of Tundzha municipality and 7 local businessmen. The beneficiaries were involved in: personal invitations, working meetings, joint planning of activities etc.
