Description
The project addresses the need to ensure public monitoring of the reforms proposed in key policy areas. The project aims at raising public awareness by means of targeted journalistic monitoring of the reforms and presenting the positions of all stakeholders. First, a subsection of the mediapool.bg website will be created. Second, kea areas, topics and stakeholders will be identified and the reforms and actions proposed by the state will be monitored and presented on the website. Third, information will be collected; the positions of the stakeholders will be presented; the debates in the National Assembly and the Council of Ministers will be reported and the proposed actions will be analyzed. Fourth, the public responses will be followed and presented. Finally, the project outcomes will be presented to the public. The project will benefit the public in general, activists, NGOs, the media and decision-makers.
Summary of project results
The main and long-term goal of the project was to support active citizenship and the specific objectives were to use the mechanisms for active civic participation in decision-making and raise awareness about the reforms carried out. The project ensured the best possible publicity and systematic monitoring of the reforms proposed by the government. 140 publications and 13 questionnaires were prepared during the project; they were read 410 287 times in total and the materials were quoted 156 times by other media. The project was carried out to benefit NGOs, decision-makers, the representatives of the business, the media and most of all the public in general. The comments of the articles and in the social media, the questionnaires and the publications summing up the feedback received ensured the best possible interactivity and visibility of the opinions of the target groups.
