Description
The project addresses the need for greater involvement of NGOs in local policy- and decision-making in Lovech Municipality. The project aims at achieving greater involvement by reviving the community council of NGOs. First, the initiative will be presented to the local stakeholders (the local authorities, media, community). Second, an NGO forum will be held to select the participants in the training on advocacy campaigns. Third, 40 representatives of the stakeholders will be selected and trained on how to organize advocacy campaigns. Fourth, the community council will be set up and its procedural rules will be drafted and adopted. The project will benefit the local NGOs, the municipal authorities and the local community. The partner will support the project with its expertise, good reputation and contacts with the stakeholders.
Summary of project results
The project addressed the need for greater involvement of NGOs in local policy- and decision-making in Lovech Municipality. There are people with an active civil position who are unaware of the technology for success. A municipality should develop along lines that meet the needs of its citizens. The project promoter represents some of the citizens and carry out civil monitoring. The project aimed at setting up a public council at Lovech Municipality to search and propose solutions to local issues. The goal was fulfilled by setting up a team of interested parties who monitored regularly the work of the Municipal Council and the administration of Lovech Municipality. The same team also drafted the rules and policies for the work of the Public Council. At the end of the project an agreement for cooperation was signed with the municipality. For more information:
