Summary of project results

The project addressed the challenges faced by teachers and students at the Juvenile Correctional Centre for male offenders aged 8 – 18 in the town of Rakitovo. It helped a group of 58 boys from an institution for juveniles with deviant behaviour to become less aggressive, show tolerance and mutual support in their daily interaction. The methodology of Problem-Solving used as an integrated approach entailing the acquisition of various skills also contributed for better social and labour integration of the young people after they leave the institution. The training courses and supervision carried out during the project provided the 26 teachers and educators from Angel Uzunov Correctional Boarding School with a sustainable toolkit for their successful future work. The sessions with the young people held during the project implementation that have proved to be efficient will also continue in the future.
