Description
The first part of visit of applicant Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim will be attending the international conference: 18th Conference Pollutant Responses in Marine Organisms - PRIMO 18 – Conference, May 24-27, 2015. Here the applicant will present the results of previous work. The second objective of the project will be a visit Dr. Augustine Arukwe and his group on Department of Biology. His primary objective is to increase the understanding on the general principles that determine hormonal control of reproduction, chemical or biological specificity of xenobiotics and their impairment of health and reproductive capability in organisms. The aim of the internship with Dr. Augustine Arukwe will enrich gained knowledge, information and their application in practice even with solution to applicant grant in Czech Republic.
Summary of project results
The research stay was realized under the supervision of prof. Agustine Arukwe at department of Biology in the NTNU in the Trondheim, Norway. I did optimization of methods for oxidative stress. I used the fish cells PHCL-1. I developed and optimization of six Standard Operating Procedures which will be useful for Norwegian and Czech workplaces. I have increased my knowledge and skills, I experienced an intensive knowledge transfer between me my colleagues and my supervisor at Norway. We deepened our understanding of the workplace and learned new information about common topic. I have also improved my language skills through the frequent communication in English and giving the presentations in English.
