Description
The applicant would like to spend a short research stay combined with some lectures at the Telemark University College. It would help her with methodological problems she is facing now trying to prepare a book on the Old Norse concept of the body where she aims to focus on the aspects specific for the Old Norse concept of corporality which can be used by contemporary humanities as an inspiration for their further development. Prof. Mikkel B. Tin whom she knows since my studies in Paris for 15 years ago, has last autumn informed the applicant that there is being created a new research group “Body, Movement, Meaning” at the Telemark Univesity College. The applicant believe that she could gain new inspiration in the field of methodology and new approaches, from the phenomenological one to the cultural studies approach to the body. In the future, she hope there will be a possibility to create a similar research group on Charles University which will be able to discuss the phenomenon of the body from different perspectives.
