Description
Dr. Yurchenko will give a lecture oh his research in the field of Leishmania infection. The collaboration between his research group and the laboratory of professor Nerland will be discussed in detail. The laboratory of Dr. Yurchenko is working in two directions: 1) biology of human pathogens of the genus Leishmania, and 2) molecular parasitology and diversity of the monoxenous parasites, close relatives of Leishmania. Both research topics are pursued in the University of Bergen. The potential collaboration between two research lab will lead to increased productivity of both groups. In addition, the collaboration between Universities of Bergen and Ostrava will be beneficial to other researchers and students from both sides that can visit participating institutions to study or to do some research projects in theitr respective fields.
Summary of project results
Planned mobility was as expected and met the purpose of the journey. It was a lecture on the topic "Virulent factors in Leishmania infection." Dr. Yurchenko participated in the lab of Professor Nerlands meeting and discuss projects of PhD students and other students. Together they agreed on a joint submission of the project The Research Council of Norway.
