Description

The aim of the project is to promote the development of the association "Vidusdaugava NGO Center" as a network of non-governmental organizations and active citizens by long-term planning, investing in human resources development, supporting the quality management of changes to achieve the intended results. Four activities will be implemented: development of a long-term strategy for the period until 2024; educating the management team of the association and the leaders of the most active member organizations on high-quality management principles and strategic planning of the organization

Summary of the results

Key Results:

  1. Enhanced Communication and Collaboration:

    • Regular communication practices were established, including Zoom meetings (every two months) and WhatsApp/Messenger exchanges, allowing both organizations to deepen mutual understanding and discuss operational practices. This led to the creation of a long-term collaboration model and agreement.

  2. Capacity Building:

    • Involvement of a volunteer strategic planning advisor ensured a robust model development process. Discussions among Vidusdaugava NGO Center leadership and project staff, supported by partner feedback, improved the team''s strategic planning capabilities.

  3. Formalized Partnership:

    • A long-term cooperation agreement was drafted, refined, and signed during an in-person visit to Iceland. This visit included meetings with Icelandic partner organizations to better understand their practices and plan a joint initiative for 2022.

  4. Strategic Outcomes:

    • The initiative reinforced the progress achieved in the main project, boosting Vidusdaugava NGO Center’s visibility and providing new opportunities to plan financial independence activities. This aligned with the center’s long-term strategy and strengthened its role as a regional civil society network.
