Description

Aims of the initiative: 

- Improve disaster resilience;

- Increase knowledge on Sendai Framework DRR;

- Promote cross-border learning, enhanced mutual knowledge and understanding;

- Boost regional cooperation within Sendai Framework for DRR;

- Promote new technologies within disaster prevention and preparedness;

- Promote EEA/Norway Grants as a tool for preparedness and resilience bulding.

Expected bilateral benefits: Enhanced cooperation and improved mutual knowledge and understanding on disaster prevention and preparedness between Norway and Poland

- Establishing of the Joint PL

Summary of the results

Main activity of the initiative was international conference on disaster prevention. This conference took place on 9-11 May 2023. After the conference report was prepared.

The main objective of the project was to build knowledge in the field of disaster risk reduction, including in particular:

- good practices related to the construction of databases;

- the possibility of using satellite data and GIS tools;

- lessons learned from recent crises;.

- disaster risk assessment;

- knowledge-based decision-making;

- exchange of good practice in spatial planning and public-private partnerships.
