The project aims to connect the executive of the Romanian Women''s Lobby with key persons and trainers from Iceland in a preparatory meeting in

Summary of the results

The actions carried out within this project contributed significantly to the organizational development of RoWL. A draft framework of the future Iceland-Romania bilateral strategy for the participation of women in the 2024 elections was prepared and the RoWL executive was connected with Icelandic key persons and trainers. A Training of Trainers (TOT) program was organized in RO for female candidates. The main results of the project included increasing the organizational capacity of RoWL and partner political parties in supporting and preparing women leaders for active involvement in the 2024 elections. As an example, 5 multiplication workshops were organized for 164 participating women from Romanian political parties in 5 different cities. These actions have brought significant changes to the final beneficiaries, increasing the confidence and we hope the subsequent participation of women from various political parties in the elections of 2024. The active participation of women in political decision-making processes we hope will become a reality as a result of the training and support offered by the project. During a press conference associated with the Training of Trainers session, the Icelandic trainers emphasized the importance of equal representation in political life, stating that "The time has come for Romanian women to stand up and demand equal representation in political life. You cannot take decisions and makes policies for women without women."
