Description

The project "Revitalization of the park on Nádražní Street" was processed as a follow-up to the "Adaptation strategy to climate change in the Kurim region", which was supported within Call No. SGS-3 "Oslo" of the Norway Grants 2014-2021. The measure "Revitalization of existing city parks" was proposed as part of the action plan of this adaptation strategy.  The park area near the train station is also subject in this measure. The implementation of this measure will improve the microclimatic conditions in the city and reduce the risks associated with high temperatures during heat waves. In addition to the positive effect on the microclimate in the city, the revitalized park will serve as an informal residential social space for the city, where it will be possible to organize social events, small chamber concerts, school performances by children, etc. A drinking fountain will be installed in the park, which will reduce the feeling temperature of passengers and at the same time serve as a facility for cyclists. "Revitalization of the park on Nádražní Street, Kuřim" thus mitigates the effects of climate change and reduces the overall vulnerability of intensively used locations around the busy railway station, which is so important to the lives of local residents.
