Description

The project consists in supporting Greek startups to develop sustainable businesses, by offering a series of workshops, educational content, and 1-on-1 online meetings with experts from Norway and Greece. The workshops will cover various topics such as sustainable business models, green supply chain management, corporate social responsibility, sustainable marketing strategies, sustainable finance, and legal and regulatory framework for sustainable business development in Europe. The participants will also have access to online educational content and resources to enhance their skills and knowledge in building sustainable startups. In this project, IDN will share their know-how of the Norwegian ecosystem, especially in the areas of Green Industry Innovation, and ICT. And their main task will be to secure the participation of Norwegian experts through its large network in the industry of renewable energy, environmental technology, industrial production, and ICT.

Summary of project results

The major problem that Greek entrepreneurs face is the limited access to knowledge and funding solutions. The project established digital meeting areas to facilitate interaction between the Greek and Norwegian ecosystems, encouraging learning, sharing of best practices, and networking. Through this project, startups were trained on how to build sustainable businesses that
support the European Green Deal Strategy.

The aim of the project was to bring together the 2 startup ecosystems (Norway’s and Greece’s) through an online programme focused on sustainability and green development issues. Experts from both Greece and Norway trained 46 startups companies which participated in the programme.

The activities, which were implemented, included access to 1-on-1 online meetings with fundraising experts and corporates from Norway and Greece, workshops covering topics such as sustainable business development for startups, sustainable business models, sustainable financing options and how to attract investors who prioritize sustainability. In addition, the programme offered curated educational materials and resources, and networking opportunities.

These activities helped Greek companies fill skill gaps, improve their financial planning and business modeling, and develop product/service innovation skills that are aligned with the European Green Deal Strategy and the Recovery Plan for Europe.

The project helped Greek startups develop sustainable businesses, by training them on issues related to green innovation and sustainable finance. The project provided Greek startups and entrepreneurs with greater access to knowledge and funding opportunities, thereby supporting green entrepreneurship, as well as opportunities to find new clients to grow revenues.

The Bifrost project also aimed to support the European Green Deal Strategy by empowering startups in Greece to develop sustainable businesses through technology and innovation, facilitating collaboration between Greek and Norwegian entities and providing opportunities for partnerships and attracting more interest and investment from Norway in the Greek startup scene.
