Description
The project aims at enhancing the business development capacity of MES Energy and HERON Engineering; the 2 companies wish to train and improve their know-how around technologies, practices, tools, methodologies and successful case studies around the use of green hydrogen. This will be done through workshops, business matchmaking events, study/analyses. Specifically, the project consists in the organisation of workshops and matchmaking events, as well as the development of a pre-feasibility study on green hydrogen technology and its applications, in order for the 2 partners to learn about practices, trends and tools elaborated by leading markets (including Norway) for hydrogen today, with the ultimate goal of developing innovative "products".
Summary of project results
Driven by technological developments and falling renewable electricity prices, green hydrogen is increasingly seen as the most promising green energy resource, in line with the European and national climate neutrality targets set for 2050. In the above framework, the 2 Greek partners, which had already started operating around ways of exploiting the potential of green hydrogen, wanted to increase their knowledge around the future use of hydrogen in buildings and facilities. This project aimed at strengthening the business development capacity of the 2 companies on the opportunities and benefits of hydrogen use.
The main objective of the project was for the 2 participating companies and the public to train and improve their know-how around technologies, practices, tools, methodologies and successful case studies around the use of environmentally friendly hydrogen to meet ones energy needs. In order to achieve this goal, four workshops were organised with the main theme of enhancing environmental sustainability through key innovation areas of the “Green Economy”. These covered the following themes: Hydrogen applications in storage projects, Hydrogen Case Studies in Europe and Greece, Hydrogen Technologies in Buildings and Social Impacts, and Hydrogen applications in the transport sector. In addition, a pre-feasibility study was conducted on the development of products and services using green technology, the trends and tools elaborated by leading markets such as Norway, and on the sustainability conditions of green hydrogen technologies.
The project enhanced the 2 partners'' knowledge on the application of green hydrogen technologies in the energy market, for the development of products and services using green hydrogen in Greek buildings and facilities. As a result, the 2 partners increased their competitiveness within the focus area of Green Industry Innovation.
