Description

The project "Improvement of microclimatic conditions in the Na Radouči locality" was processed as a follow-up to the "Climate Change Adaptation Strategy of the Statutory City Mladá Boleslav", which was supported in call No. SGS-3 "Oslo" of the Norway Grants 2014-2021. As part of the action plan of this adaptation strategy, the measure "Revitalization of green areas and new planting in housing estates (Northern housing estate - from Erbenova street to 17. listopadu street, Slavoj estate)" is proposed. The area of greenery in the inner block of the housing estate in the Na Radouči locality is also subject to this measure. The implementation of this measure should improve the microclimatic conditions in the city and reduce the risks associated with high temperatures during heat waves. In addition to the positive effect on the microclimate in the city, the revitalized area will serve as an informal living space of the city, which plays a role in relation to the quality of housing for local residents. Currently, rainwater from buildings and parking lots is channeled into storm sewers, water from the playground is soaked through the surface of the lawn. As part of the implementation, new trees should be planted that provide shade and absorb moisture. Smaller water area and area with water sprays should be implemented as a cooling element for the location. The surface of the children''s and workout playground will be changed to a permeable one. Photovoltaic panels should also be set up in the locality, which will power street lighting and water sprays. The project mitigates the effects of climate change and reduces the overall vulnerability of the site, which is intensively used mainly by residents of Mladá Boleslav, which is important for the quality of local life.
