Description

The aim of this initiative is to establish and develop bilateral inter-institutional relations by exchanging knowledge, sharing experience in the field of emergency and crisis management. During its implementation Lithuanian experts’ team will visit selected Norwegian institutions to exchange good experience and knowledge in the field of crisis management and civil protection, to build a foundation for cooperation between Norway and Lithuanian institutions. 

Summary of the results

The issues discussed - disaster prevention and preparedness, including military and CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) threats in Norway and Lithuania.

Billteral inter-institutional cooperation was established and enhanced through the mutual exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of emergency and crisis management. In addition, inter-institutional relations were reinforced and mutual trust was built among the Ministry of the Interior, the Government Chancellery, the Fire and Rescue Department under the Ministry of the Interior, and local municipalities in the area of civil protection.
