Description
The main subject of the initiative is creation of an audio document/podcast focusing on the life of survivors (or families affected by) of the attacks of 22/7/2011 in Oslo and Utøya. It will not focus on the attacks themselves, but it will introduce the survivors as they live now, how they worked with their trauma and were able to move on. It will also introduce the approach, how Norwegian society deals with such tragic events and the trauma they cause, and how it works on preventing them from repeating. Summary of the results
The initiative included a 3-week trip by documentary filmmaker Lukáš Houdek to Norway, where he worked for three weeks at the 22 July Center on the podcast series "Survive" (in close cooperation with the center''s staff). He conducted a total of 21 interviews with survivors and bereaved families of the terrorist attacks in downtown Oslo and on the island of Utoya, as well as with experts on extremism, society, education, and trauma work. As part of the working trip, a three-hour workshop by Lukáš Houdek was also held for employees of the center''s education department (May 31, 2023) about his experiences with combating hatred in Czech society and refuting hoaxes, which is one of the areas the center focuses on.
