The project “Artistic Workshop” addresses the needs of the Municipality of Radomir to create an ethnically tolerant environment for the development and promotion of cultural initiatives of the Roma minority, using culture and art as a means for developing skills and as a path to education. This will be achieved through the creation of 3 artistic ateliers in the Youth Center of the municipality, where local artists - professionals and amateurs, will be trained in modern techniques in the arts of theatre and dance, and the basics of scenography. A minor renovation will be carried out in the Youth Center itself and new stage equipment will be purchased. Initiatives for exchange of experience and local capacity building will be implemented with the participation of the project partners - KIOPA Institute (Bulgaria) and Artepunkt Scandinavia (Norway). The focus of the project is to promote Roma culture and attract new audiences, which will enhance cultural exchange between communities, social cohesion and overcoming stereotypes. For this purpose, with the help of the partners, an educational campaign will be conducted with an emphasis on Roma culture and a stage performance will be created to follow the journey and cultural development of the Roma ethnic group as well as its influence on the Bulgarian and European culture. Through a synthesis of arts - theatre, singing, dancing, etc., key Roma values, traditions and beliefs will be presented. The project will wind up with a performance tour in the town of Radomir and 4 other peripheral settlements from the administrative districts of Pernik, Blagoevgrad and Kyustendil.
