Description

The objective of the initiative is to establish routes for strong bilateral cooperation of blue economy actors from regions of Dalmatia (Croatia) and Trøndelag (Norway). Blue sector is strongly embedded in the overall economy of both regions, contributing significantly to the GDP and total employment. According to the 2021 Blue economy report, Croatia employs a total of 144,165 people and generates about 3.1 billion euro in GVA from blue economy sectors. Summary of the results

Beneficiary and partner created a Market Exchange Report that explores the possibilities of connecting stakeholders from Trøndelag region in Norway and Dalmatia in Croatia, based on the analyzes from the report on the stakeholders of the ocean technology ecosystem, which were produced during the implementation of the initiative. In addition, the report draws on virtual events that brought together Croatian and Norwegian stakeholders during 2024, as well as live events in Split and Trondheim. These meetings included B2B meetings and visits to companies, organizations and production facilities in both regions, as well as workshops on the topic of digital transformation and the role of digital innovation hubs as well as skill advancement in the blue economyIn total 57 participants from Croatia, and 34 from Norway were involved in bilateral events. Market Exchange Report provides insight into the current state of the market for both regions, and an overview of best practices, technologies and approaches in the blue economy sector, as well as challenges and opportunities facing stakeholders in both regions. The initiative highlighted two European areas and helped them work together and find ways to improve their maritime and marine industries.
