Summary of the results
Thanks to the initiative a joint Norwegian-Czech space for the exchange of information between literary publishers, agents, translators and cultural workers from both countries was created. Two workshops were held within the project. The primary achievement was a three-day joint meeting in Brno, Czech Republic, in July 2023, facilitating extensive contacts and presentations from both Czech and Norwegian literary spheres. Prior to this, a preparatory workshop was conducted in Lillehammer in May 2023, emphasizing collaboration and finalizing content for the main event. The workshop in Lillehammer took place during the Lillehammer Literature Festival, which greatly helped the visibility of the project and enabled to multiply all synergies and to distribute materials promoting Czech literature. The main event – the workshop/joint meeting in Brno – hosted 7 NO publishers who presented Norwegian books from their production. An important part of the workshop also included inputs concerning the grant systems that both countries have established for the promotion of their literature abroad. The event included a social gathering attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in the Czech Republic. Consequently, the cooperation was promoted at Authors'' Reading Month literary festival on 30 July 2023.
