Summary of project results

The overall objective of the "Future in Belitsa" project was to promote employment in the Belitsa municipality through the implementation of measures provided for in the local development strategy of the municipality, developed under the "Growth through activation of the local potential (GALOP)” project. More specifically, the project aimed to address the problem of high unemployment in Belitsa municipality and cover people outside the labor market by providing employment to 6 unemployed and/or inactive individuals.

Through training for unemployed people, skills were developed to meet the requirements of local employers and job opportunities were created for disadvantaged people. This contributed to promoting the local economic development, increasing the quality of life and attractiveness of the region. The implemented activities included a combination of training measures, employment and information events carried out in partnership between the applicant, a private company from the Belitsa municipality and the partner, Belitsa Municipality.

During the implementation of the project activities, jobs for 6 disadvantaged people were ensured on the labor market of Belitsa municipality. It is anticipated that some of the jobs will be retained after the end of the project, which will ensure both the sustainability of the projects results and encourage the employment of people from the target group, in response to the identified problems at the local level. 12 unemployed people were included in the training who acquired new knowledge and skills, thus achieving their better employability and giving them the opportunity to improve their quality of life. The second target group included employers from Belitsa municipality. Representatives of this target group took part in the organized information event, where they presented information about the jobs offered by them and met with unemployed and inactive persons from Belitsa municipality. The event brought together over 100 participants, promoting local economic development and creating job opportunities for disadvantaged people.
