Description

HEIs have multiple roles, one of them identifying as shaping the future of labor force, but an outstanding issue is how to assure constantly the readiness of the graduate students to enter the labor market with up-to-date knowledge.Therfore information regarding the actual industrial trends are necessary to be provided for the students because they  will work with and within advanced technologies. The Industry 4.0 and 5.0 paradigms have significant impacts on competitiveness and sustainability of the SMEs around the world. The methodologies and technologies that are associated with these must be applied in our region too. There are many key concepts that have contributed to form a critical line in this development, among which, intelligent manufacturing, digital twin, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoTs), Cyber-physical systems (CPS), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Metal Additive Manufacturing (MAM), cloud technologies. Our university, through the Faculty of Technical and Human Sciences, wants to be not only a key role player for labor force supply, but also a solid partner in innovative thinking. Therefore, for our MSc students it is mandatory to understand the development of Industrial revolution from a technological perspective with all technologies developed in Industry 4.0 are elaborated as well as a clear understanding of triple-helix concepts in Industry 5.0. Through this mobility project, our Department of Mechanical Engineering, will acquire from UiT The Arctic University of Norway (UiT) - a know-how, with which it will assure a short-term, as well a long-term development to fulfil the stated mission. The short-term benefits will be through the student mobility, so students will obtain a guided practical experience in the labs of the DS Partner. Parallel to this action, the mobility of the teaching and administrative staff to and from DS will assure the know-how transfer for the long-term development needed for sustainability of the post project period.
