Description
The project is necessary for the vulnerable and disadvantaged community in Budila commune where Roma ethnic population is 80%, most of them living in an advanced degree of poverty and social exclusion. The general objective of the project is to increase the quality of life and improve educational conditions. The target group is represented by 80 children and youth (of which 75 Roma - 30 aged between 6-10 years, 40 aged between 10-14, and 5 aged between 14-16) and 102 parents (of which 95 Roma, including 5 single mothers). Activities includes: small works for rehabilitation of the Budila Secondary School, equipping the premises where after-school educational activities will be carried out; development of an after-school program and non-formal education activities for 80 children and young people; providing educational materials, supplies and shoes for 80 children in order to prevent school dropouts; workshops and socializing spaces for 102 parents in order to increase their involvement in children''s education. An important focus of the project will be on the development of services for mothers, including single mothers, and addressing issues specific to them: abuse, power relations and reproductive rights.
