Summary of project results

The project was  an attempt to break a stereotype of classical musicians and institutions: commonly considered as an elite, exclusive society for high-profile listeners and limited to elegance and sophisticated interiors. Unfortunately, very often the understanding of the role of musicians by themselves does not go beyond this picture. Trained to be perfect on stage, raised in bubbles with similar ones, aspiring to reach the same goal, musicians have never developed competences to interact with others and take into account “for whom they are really playing for”. Therefore, there was a need to thoroughly think over and (hypothetically) revise a function of classical musicians, orchestras and other institutions with reference to the urgent and necessary societal changes.

The project builded also on the idea of arts as a very successful tool for processes of social inclusion and art therapies which were widely utilized at work with vulnerable groups. Respectively, interdisciplinary projects, which connect miscellaneous art forms magnify their impact on recipient, as they combine an audio and visual inputs, words with pictures, symbols with movements.
