Main objective: to promote multiculturalism in art and traditions, by facilitating intercultural dialogue between the main ethnic communities in Timisoara and the general public, focused on understanding and accepting diversity, awareness of current social realities and developing cultural diversity.
Main activities:
• making a documentary film of at least 30 minutes, with a professional team, through which the majority ethnic communities from Timisoara are presented.
• the realization of an outdoor premiere in Timisoara during the Outdoor Cinema Festival/Metropolis Caravan
Summary of the results
During the implementation of the Bilateral initiative, there were achieved
- a 55-minute documentary film, with a professional team, through which the majority ethnic communities in Timisoara were presented
- the premiere of the film in Timisoara. The film was premiered in Timisoara, on July 19, 2023, at Cinema Victoria
- the premiere of the film in Norway. The film was premiered in Oslo, on August 31, 2023, at the French Institute
- a round table at the Auăleu Theater in Timisoara, on July 19, 2023. They spoke about new and old ethnic minorities: Christo Baltazhar, Ionut Ionescu Eriksen and Stefan Both
The film was presented at the following festivals: Caravana Metropolis - outdoor cinema Tulcea, Filmul de Piatra, Rod Festival. Access to the screenings was free.
The documentary followed through the eyes of the Norwegian Christo Baltazhar the interaction and contribution to the current social, political, economic and cultural life of the main ethnic groups in Timisoara. Through this film, the multicultural tradition of Timisoara was reconfirmed and strengthened the image of a functional multi-ethnic and multi-religious center.
