Summary of project results

The aim of this project was to strengthen the multicultural environment and to make the counselling in the area of discrimination and human rights more open to the public and this through the complex offer of varied activities. The activities involved: Increasing in accessibility of social and legal counselling and improvement of legal knowledge by target groups. Development of the dialogue and opportunities for encounter between Roma minority and the major society. Support for the intercultural education for helping professionals and at schools. Our target group was created primarily from 3 groups of people: people in crisis, people living in social excluded localities and families with children. In course of the project we were very successful in creating the cooperation with individuals and also with the whole families. The counselling was provided in advisory centers in Opava and in Krnov, we cooperated with 42 involved participants and with 18 organizations and institutions in both regions. In the area of developing the dialogue and opportunities for encounter we realized 2 actions, which covered participants from the whole Moravian-Silesian region. There was a dancing show, where we had 22 dancing groups and many of them were constituted by Roma children and young people. On this show took part more than 150 children, 43 children provided the backing programme. We realized also the Singing and Art competition , where took part almost 130 children, more than 50 parents, friends and interested people from public. The singing performances were enriched also with dancing performances presented by the dancing groups. We finished the realization of the project through the arrangement of the Conference of Mutual Understanding, where took part 110 experts not only from the Moravian-Silesian region. This action was held on 31.3. 2016.
