Description

The project is based on the principle of active participation of 44 people (women and children) of refugees from Ukraine, most of whom are people with disabilities and experience of war trauma. The applicant - the project leader together with the partner - the Association "Spojrzenie" participated in the development of its assumptions. The main project activity will consist in conducting 9-day educational workshops as part of one camp (Zakopane, August 2022), based on the principles of non-formal education, including, inter alia, activities for women in the field of personal development

Summary of the results

The project was carried out in line with the assumptions, it included the full and active participation of a group of 44 refugees from Ukraine, the vast majority of whom were people with disabilities, all with the experience of war trauma. The project was implemented with a partner organization - the "Spojrzenie" Association.

The classes included the activation of women in the field of personal development, assertiveness, building self-esteem and coping with stress. At the same time, they were an introduction to the knowledge of healthcare in Poland (including healthcare for people with disabilities), using the services of public institutions such as offices, clinics, schools, libraries, public institutions. increasing social competences, including acquiring skills necessary to function in everyday life, with particular emphasis on the disabilities of the project participants.

Most of the project participants come from areas currently under military operations, they experienced war trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder. A significant part of the classes included therapy and training of coping skills (group and individual therapies). Young, underage participants of the project took part in integration and educational workshops, especially affecting the well-being of children and adolescents with visual disabilities.
