Description

Botanic Lab, established in 2018, specializes in innovative landscaping solutions. In response to the post-COVID demand for healthier workspaces, the company adapted its tech prototype, the "Botanic Wall."

This innovative product enhances indoor air quality by leveraging the air-purifying, soundproofing, humidity regulation, and other benefits of various plants. Beyond environmental advantages, it reduces stress and boosts productivity. Smart management systems provide efficient maintenance and optimize energy and water use.

The "Botanic Wall" introduces a mobile app for remote control, ensuring user-friendly customization. The product also offers digital guidance for healthier indoor spaces and customizable design options for additional flexibility. It''s a pioneering solution for post-pandemic workspaces, combining innovation and environmental responsibility.

Further, this project contains a strong bilateral component. The partnership with the Norwegian company FRONTIER VENTURE AS will contribute to the successful business development of the Applicant. The two partners have the ambitions to continue with their cooperation after the finalisation of the project.

Summary of project results

In the COVID-19 pandemic situation the company performed research on the market in the context with the services it offer,  and identified the following need:

In the pandemic situation company managers want to ensure a healthier work place and care to employees, so that they feel safe and comfortable at work. Analysing the situation, we came to the idea that we can adapt our existing tech product prototype Botanic Wall, which is a landscaping system, in order to meet the above need and together with the landscaping maintenance be able to ensure healthier environment with the needed social distance. The innovation under this project will be an upgraded Botanic Wall, which is an already developed product on prototype level, with new functionalities according to the new requirements of the post-pandemic office. The new product Botanic Wall is a national level innovation, which not only makes a positive impact on the closed, air-polluted urban areas, but also helps managers of office buildings and public spaces build healthier work environments after the PostPandemic situation. Botanic wall also will offer an innovative solution with remote maintenance to save money and time of the customers, while reducing air pollution levels and creating a desirable working or public interior. Its aim is to improve air conditioning thanks to plants with high environmental impact on people’s health - air purifying, soundproofing, improving humidity, absorbing fine dust particles and harmful electromagnetic waves. The plants also reduce stress levels and increase productivity. The product has time efficient maintenance due to smart management systems and ensures cost optimization of energy and water usage. Botanic wall`s new generation smart system can be remotely managed via the mobile app, where users can adjust: lighting, temperature, humidity and irrigation system. The application will also offer digital guidelines to improve the work conditions, thanks to collecting data and giving tips for healthier working/ public areas. The product allows customizable design, size and features which could add additional incomes. The innovation itself corresponds to the principles of the good business practice the company follows, as it is a highquality product responsible to the environment by means of optimization of resources. The product will also use relevant global standards and best practice as a basis, as well as implementing measures for continuous improvement. Target groups of the product are: office buildings, big office spaces (especially in IT and BPO industry), co-workings and other open working areas. These are the company’s main and well known B2B customers in the last 4 years (70 % of the company’s net income), and the most rapidly growing sector in the future. So far, Botanic Lab has been developing its activities with sustainable growth, despite the difficult economic situation. This has allowed the company to invest its own capital for implementation of new management
