Description
Founded in 2019, Plan A Ltd. is a dynamic startup that boasts a team of seasoned professionals with extensive experience in enterprise software development and project management. This dedicated team specializes in delivering sophisticated IT solutions and products, setting the stage for innovation in the industry.
Plan A Ltd. is on the verge of introducing an ingenious product: Heat Accounting Software. This groundbreaking software is designed to revolutionize the distribution of heat energy within buildings with central heat supply systems. Operating as a bridge between end users and heating plants, the software processes both input and output data. It offers a comprehensive solution for heat accountants and customers, facilitating the efficient management of heat consumption. Through this system, users in buildings with central heating can enjoy the benefits of accurate and detailed monthly and annual reports.
To gather precise data on end-user consumption, accounting devices such as distributors, subscriber stations, individual heat meters, apartment heat meters, and water meters will be deployed. These meters cater to various types of heating energy and are integral components of the innovative heat accounting software developed by Plan A Ltd. This system is poised to usher in a new era of efficiency and transparency in the world of district heating.
Summary of project results
The Directive 2012/27 / EU on energy efficiency provides with the requirements to install individual meters or indirect systems (eg heat distributors) for heat metering in apartment buildings equipped with central heating or general central heating. Directive (EU) 2018/844 of the European Union, regulates heat reading to be done remotely within 5 working days (expected to enter into force in 2027 in Bulgaria). Currently one of the main reasons the industry is not digitalised is the fact that a significant portion of the end-users do not have electronic measuring devices, which require in-person measurement from the company''s personnel. The forthcoming legislative change opens the door for the digitalisation of the processes.
The project focused mainly on research activities for the development of algorithms, processes and interfaces and finish the user experience (UX) design as well as creating a module of reports and analyses, to include opportunities for analysis above building data and information providing with opportunities for a better monitoring of possible theft of heat energy, detection of discrepancies in the data provided, etc. The activities also included the development of new functionalities to expand the product scope, including environmental impact calculations, end-customer visibility and consumption tracking, and others. The new technology and business model have been tested and validated (whether it is functionally applicable, whether the model is correct, and whether customers behave as the innovation and model provides).
The new software product "Heat accounting software" will allow the company to finalize the activities for development and testing of the complex software for share distribution of the consumed heat energy in buildings with central heat supply.
The cumulative effect from saved CO2 emissions will be at least 600 tonnes per year from the introduction of the innovative solution in the activities of heat accountants.
