Description

The initiative aims at establishing cooperation between Prague and Oslo to explore and gain experience in a topic of great importance for both cities - affordable/co-housing. It will bring an interdisciplinary team of representatives from various governing institutions of the Czech Republic to meet with local authorities, architects, and experts involved in the topic of co-housing and create a model for future cooperation. Both partners shall meet in Norway and the Czech Republic. After the sessions, the applicant summarises the experience in The Future Urban Habitat Manual detailing some of

Summary of the results

Through the realisation of the activities of the project, we ignited a really necessary conversation regarding affordable housing strategies.
Our conference highlighted the issues we are facing and brought together experts who have since started collaborations.
We realised a myriad of similarities between CZ and Norway, both in the current issues we are facing and our housing histories. It was interesting to uncover these similarities throughout the project.

After the initiative''s activities, we summarised the project and laid out some inputs from key figures in the project to serve as inspiration for municipalities in The Future Urban Habitat Manual. The open-source guide was placed on our website as a free-to-download manual.
The manual, recordings and further information can be found on our website - https://cceamoba.cz/en/projects/mestske-bydleni-budoucnosti
