Description

The Adoption and Foster Care Centre is an eminent provider of services for at-risk children. Standard information tools (websites, Facebook) are currently used to communicate with target groups. From user feedback and internal analysis, it was found that the current method of communication is outdated, and the website is confusing and not user friendly. The aim of this project is to optimize the use of digital tools with regard to the needs of the target group, making the content and structure of websites clearer, easier to navigate, with new channels of communication such as Instagram and Podcasts. The project also includes strengthening the skills of the organization''s employees in leveraging these channels to improve our engagement with the target group.

Summary of project results

We are convinced that the goal of improving the use of digital tools has been successfully reached according to the plan of this project. The launch of the new form of the website www.nahradnirodina.cz and the Instagram page will significantly contribute to the awareness of the issue of adoption and foster care, and will bring support to the
existing adoptive and foster families and awareness to the NGO itself. The NGO''s detailed communication strategy, which the organization intends to continue to implement, clearly contributed to the achievement of the above. All of the employees were actively involved in the creation of this strategy and were continuously educated in the use of digital tools, including the protection and safety of using these tools. The organization plans to continue using the established tools. The new structure of the website is the biggest highlight of the project. It not only informs about the organization''s activities, but especially provides professional information about adoption and foster care to the general public. All web data were migrated from the Drupal 7 web environment to Wordpress, which allowed to revive all of the content of the website, not just the visual. A new educational section was created which includes the organization''s library with more than 600 titles related to adoption or foster care that can be borrowed by the NGO''s clients. All titles are now displayed and it is possible to send a request to borrow each book via a web form. Another new section named "Movies, Videos, Articles and Interviews" provides links to different podcasts, interviews or movies related to the issue. Additionally, the website has a newly built-in contact form allowing to send a direct question without having to send an email or make a phone call separately.
