Description
The aim of the project is to strengthen the capacity of the Foundation "Science and Innovation Park", develop management competencies, renew the statutes and strategy, manage workforce sustainability and communication with society.
In 2012, the Foundation "Science and Innovation Park" was established to promote the development of the knowledge economy, implementing the involvement of innovations and the transfer of technology and knowledge in the national economy. Currently, due to the interests and goals of the newly involved persons, the foundation operates in a completely different perspective from its original founding purpose, but the reorganization and changes in the statutes have not been carried out so far.
To achieve the main goal of the project, four activities will be carried out - renewal of the strategy, improvement of the website, social media and public image, M&E training for the board of the fund and project managers (8 people) and project management. , work planning, organization, cooperation promotion and public image building training for project managers and assistants. These trainings will strengthen the individual capabilities of at least 27 people involved in the Foundation. The project will help solve the Fund''s long-standing problems, which keep it "stuck" and prevent it from moving towards long-term goals.
The activities are expected to guarantee a clearer vision of the foundation''s long-term goals and strengthen the structure.
Summary of project results
The capacity project for the Foundation "Science and Innovation Park" was developed to address several core challenges hindering its operational efficiency and impact. The foundation lacked a cohesive strategic plan, which led to disorganized activities and created difficulties in effectively responding to urgent needs. Its management structure was unstructured, leading to employee turnover and insufficient internal communication, as well as placing a heavy workload on individual staff members, impacting their capacity and motivation. Additionally, the foundation faced challenges in communicating with the public, resulting in limited visibility and engagement. Its website was slow and visually unappealing, contributing to low public awareness and limited participation in its projects. Social media and public relations efforts lacked a strategic plan, further hindering engagement and recognition. Staff often lacked the necessary training and skills for specific roles, as most were students rather than seasoned professionals, leading to inconsistencies in performance and organizational output. Consequently, the project aimed to address these issues by building capacity in strategic planning, enhancing management effectiveness, and improving public relations to position the foundation as a stable and credible organization in both civic and social engagement contexts.
The "Capacity building for the foundation ''Science and Innovation Park''" project involved enhancing the foundation''s strategic plan and implementing it across various organizational areas. The project strengthened internal structure, focusing on training new project managers and assistants to reduce employee turnover and improve project success. Strategic enhancements included developing a long-term vision, setting objectives, and conducting consultations with external experts for refining the approach. The foundation improved its public image by updating its website with a new visual identity and adding sections detailing current and past projects. Additionally, a public relations specialist worked on social media presence, and training sessions were held to empower staff in communication, task delegation, and leadership. These efforts were complemented by workshops and hackathons that fostered collaboration and defined a marketing and communication plan, quality management system, and employee roles. Finally, specific training focused on time management, critical thinking, stress resilience, and securing funding, laying the groundwork for a sustainable operational model and fostering professional growth within the organization.
The project "Capacity building for the foundation ''Science and Innovation Park''" significantly strengthened the foundation''s management capacity in planning, execution, and evaluation. Through strategic improvements, the foundation established a quality management system that facilitates efficient work planning and oversight, leading to higher productivity. The project provided targeted training for project managers, assistants, and leadership, resulting in the foundation’s enhanced ability to launch new projects. The introduction of a public relations specialist improved outreach, while the implementation of an M&E system streamlined task tracking and project documentation. Regular weekly and monthly meetings now ensure consistent quality evaluation and collaborative progress. Collectively, these advancements increased the foundation''s capacity to manage and sustain impactful initiatives effectively.
