Description
The project addresses the challenge of limited possibilities to volunteer for citizens living in Lithuanian regions. It also contributes to solving the problem of the insufficient number and decreasing motivation of current „Child line’s" volunteers. Therefore, the main target groups of the project are: adults living in regions far from the capital who could become volunteers and provide support to children and adolescents through online chat and current volunteers of "Child line".
The project will focus on the following activities:
- an awareness-raising campaign to publicise volunteering opportunity;
- promotional and inspirational events in Panevėžys, Šiauliai, Alytus for potential volunteers and local communities;
- a series of online capacity-building activities for potential volunteers.
It is expected that in close cooperation with project partners - Youth Councils in Panevėžys, Alytus and Šiauliai regions - at least 80 candidates to volunteer will be attracted and interest of young people in voluntary activities will be increased; 40 new volunteers from the regions will be trained to provide support to children and adolescents through online chat; motivation of existing VL volunteers to continue volunteering will be strengthened, thus ensuring a sufficient number of "Child Line''s" counselors and improving their skills and competencies.
