Description

The "Youth Frequency" project aims to increase the degree of participation and civic involvement among young people in Gorj County in local decision-making processes regarding public policies that affect their quality of life. This project is necessary to diminish the social and economic impact of the Fair Transition Mechanism on the communities in Gorj County, addressing the challenges of this transition process, in a sustainable way, which equips young people in the community with the necessary tools to understand and address the challenges of the near future, tools and understanding that they lack at the moment. The final beneficiaries of the project are: - 30 young people (15-19 years old) from 5 high schools in Targu Jiu, Rovinari and Motru who will participate in trainings on Structured Dialogue and Public Participation, local debates and training for podcast creation, finally achieving at least 10 podcast episodes. These young people will be selected voluntarily, depending on their interest and availability, having the need to understand what is happening in their community and to give a "voice" to the challenges. - at least 1000 young people at national level, especially from the 6 counties affected by MTJ, who will listen to the Youth Frequency podcast episodes, having the need to understand the changes that will occur in various communities and to position themselves as active citizens. The intermediate beneficiaries are 60 young people (15-19 years old) from 5 high schools from Targu Jiu, Rovinari and Motru who will participate in trainings on Structured Dialogue and Public Participation and the local debates. The project is implemented in partnership with the Romanian Broadcasting Company, which brings expertise in the podcast area, an extremely useful tool for communication and information, especially in the context of pandemic restrictions, but also the ability to communicate and disseminate to reach more listeners for the podcast episodes created.
