Description

The pre-defined initiative is focused on school exchanges between the applicant and partner as described in the Work Plan - school exchange between pupils of the “Liechtensteinische Gymnasium” in Vaduz and the “Matyas-Lerch Gymnasium” in Brno. A strong connecting element is the German language. This would allow the pupils to have a more intense exchange and gain deeper understanding of each other. In order to make the exchange more intense and to minimalize costs, it is planned that the pupils will stay at each other’s families and houses.

Summary of the results

The On the Traces 2022 initiative was organized duly in the frame of the pre-defined series of mutual school exchange between the Czech Gymnasium of Matyas Lerch (GML) and the Gymnasium in Vaduz,  LI. The visitis took place in September 2022 - first the Czech students visited LI  and consequently the LI students were hosted in Brno and Vienna. During the visit in Vaduz the students stayed in families, had the possibility to learn about common daily life in the particular country, visited the school lessons and worked together, and enjoyed the rich programme including city train tour, visit to the National Museum and the Old Cinema, tour about Industrialization of Liechtenstein, visit to the LI Parliement, the Art Museum, guided tour through the medieval castle Gutenberd and rested on minigolf and hiking. The LI visitors to Brno had experience from Czech school lessons, undertook a tour to Valtice-Lednice, to Slavkov and a city tour in Brno.  Both students groups undertook a trip to Vienna and had the reception at the Liechtenstein Embassy. Meeting at the County Office of the South Moravian Region took place, and the visit was accomplished by bowling, pizza and a fareway evening.

As usually, the event reached the set goals, 19 Czech and 19 LI students and teachers were involved and the follow-up is expected in the autumn 2023.
