Description

IJP is an intl educational and business platform for jazz artists. It is a space for creative exchange of knowledge and inspiration, as well as to meet peers and other actors of the music sector in Europe. IJP brings together representatives of the improvised music industry - students, experienced and established instrumentalists, promoters and experts. During several days in Lodz and Oslo they build a network of relationships, exchange experiences, learn from each other and share music together. IJP is a creative environment for young artists, who can feel part of a larger European community and gain inspiration and knowledge from their role models.

Summary of project results

IJP is an intl educational and business platform for jazz artists. It is a space for creative exchange of knowledge and inspiration, as well as to meet peers and other actors of the music sector in Europe. IJP brings together representatives of the improvised music industry - students, experienced and established instrumentalists, promoters and experts. During several days in Lodz and Oslo they build a network of relationships, exchange experiences, learn from each other and share music together. IJP is a creative environment for young artists, who can feel part of a larger European community and gain inspiration and knowledge from their role models.

The project assumes the organization of three editions of International Jazz Platform in 2023 and 2024 - one edition in Poland and two editions in Norway.The summer version of the project in Łódź was attended by 60 selected participants from Poland and Europe, selected through an open processrecruitment. A total of 30 Polish and 30 Norwegian artists selected along the way will take part in the two Norwegian editions of the projectrecruitment carried out by the project leader and project partner NMH.Description of the individual elements of the IJP educational scheme:1. Creative sessions - sessions during which staff representatives share their career history, experiences,the greatest challenges, successes and failures, as well as musical inspirations. Participants are encouraged to dialogue withlecturers and share your doubts.2. Instrumental sessions 3. Team sessions - activities in teams.

4. Workshops with foreign experts 5. Discussion panels -.6. Networking meetings with representatives of foreign festivals.7. Master concerts - presentation of the most ambitious and searching musical projects showing the newest onestrends in music and being a living example of a creative and individual approach to contemporary jazz musicworld.8. Final concerts - during IJP, participants, under the supervision of the staff, will prepare material consisting of the participants'' compositionsor staff. 

 

As a result of participating in IJP, participants  improved their professional and artistic competences and then use them in practiceduring the final concerts on the stage of the Wytwórnia Club in Łódź and the Nasjonal Jazzscene in Oslo. Project participants increased theirpotential at local, regional and European level, which will enable them to further effectively develop their careers.

Summary of bilateral results

Experience of the Wytwórnia w Foundationimplementation of educational initiatives, Nasjonal Jazzscene''s knowledge of the Norwegian music scene, as well as the participation of the Academy of Musicin Oslo, ensured high quality of the substantive aspect of the project.
