Summary of project results

The objective of the project was to improve access to culture for all inhabitants of Sanniki City and Commune and neighbouring communes, as well as (specific objectives): development of cultural competences of the society, development of cultural cooperation, consolidation of local and regional ties, improvement of management abilities in cultural institutions, strengthening bilateral relations between Poland and Donor States. The realization of the project will contribute to eliminate the problem which is limited access to cultural offer of the region''s inhabitants, which is related both to lower capabilities of rural households (lower affluence, activity of rural inhabitants) and limited access to cultural offer, resulting mainly from the location of the commune.

The Beneficiary - The Sanniki commune -  is a typically agricultural commune (87.8% of its area is farmland), located far from large urban centers (80 km from Warsaw, 80 km from Łódź). Location and agricultural character of the municipality translates into limited access to cultural offer, which is associated both with the lower capacity of rural households (lower wealth, activity of rural residents) and limited access to cultural offer, which is associated on the one hand with the location of the municipality away from large urban centers, and on the other hand with the limited cultural offer of the local government. As a result - local residents (especially children, youth, seniors, people with disabilities) were deprived of wide access to culture. On the other hand, residents willingly participate in all organized cultural events and show willingness and need to participate, to a greater and wider extent, in various cultural initiatives and events. The project responds to these needs of the local community, but also to the expectations and needs of the local cultural and creative sector. Assumptions of the project were consulted with cultural, social, local government, artistic, business, educational institutions. The project had both social and educational aspects and  significantly affected the local community. The multiplicity of offered events, the possibility of active participation, universal access, mass character, proximity of access, free participation, as well as infrastructural accessibility, e.g. for the elderly or people with disabilities,  caused an increase in the number of people participating in cultural and artistic events, and  permanently stimulated participation of inhabitants, so far rarely or not participating in cultural events. Engaging audiences  inspired a desire for further self-education and self-realization in various fields of culture and art. Moreover, a broad approach to culture and arts increased the range of the project impact.

The project has implemenetd  of a number of activities with emphasis on workshop forms in the following areas: music, stage and theater arts, photography, film. Reaching the widest possible target group through active promotion will be ensured: among others, through the distribution of leaflets and posters, website and social networking sites.
