Description

The project "Responsibility and sensitivity -  the key to a better world" focuses on cooperation and exchange of good practices between the participating institutions: Karol Miarka Complex of Schools no.2 in Pszczyna and Ole Vig in Stjordal within the following areas: human rights especially children''s rights, taking care of the environment, social sensitivity, voluntary work and raising social competences, which are all included in the concept of holistic education.

Both schools are already active in these areas, yet both feel that more could be done if we have a chance to learn from each other. Young activists from both schools hope that the project will let them promote their initiatives, gain new members, enlarge the scope of activity and include the cooperation between the Polish and Norwegian activists in the social pedagogy innovation programme.

The project assumes two 7-day student mobilities. In autumn 2021, 12 students and 2 teachers from Poland will go to Norway, and in spring 2022 the same size of the Norwegian group will visit Poland. During the two stays, all the project activities will be realized. There will also be group integration as the students will get to know the local culture and tourist attractions. Student mobilities will be preceded by a 2-day project meeting in Poland.

The project is for all the students who are active, sensitive to the needs of others and to the problems of the modern world and who want to change the world for the better. Nobody is excluded. We expect that thanks to the project, both schools will gain skills and knowledge as far as promoting equality, tolerance, respect, ecology and volunteer work goes. We hope more students will get involved in the relevant activities and teachers will make use of the lessons learned created after the project. Last but not least, our schools will be recognized in the local area as institutions of great value where responsible and sensitive citizens are formed.

Summary of bilateral results

The schools have been partners since 2015. The profiles of the two schools match very well. They are attended by young people of a similar age due to the same stage of education. They place a strong emphasis on human rights, develop sensitivity by organising charity events, and thrive on cooperation with local welfare and educational institutions. Both schools also have extensive experience in implementing European projects. During the project, cooperation went very well. Joint arrangements were made on an ongoing basis. All the participants were professionally and diligently involved in the tasks and fulfilled all the application requirements. The bilateral results developed in our project are: - understanding the essence of similarities and differences between the project institutions,- increasing enthusiasm for attending school,- building the attitudes of respect and tolerance,- promoting conscious and responsible behavior at school, - introduction of good practices in conducting classes and new methods in the field of education and education into everyday school life, - searching for creative solutions in the field of teamwork and effective communication, - increasing the effectiveness of activities to satisfy needs arising from the differences, as well as coping with social, linguistic and cultural differentiation, - improving services and diagnosing trends in basic skills in the field of entrepreneurship, language competences and digital skills,- improving the quality of the educational offer,- training through development and dissemination of innovative methods.
