With this project proposal, Historical Museum - Pavlikeni applies for funding to support the museum''s efforts to improve the conditions for preservation, management and presentation of cultural values. Pavlikeni Historical Museum, as a cultural institute preserves, promotes , studies and preserves the cultural and historical heritage of the city and the settlements of the region. The funds of the museum store over 26,000 fund units of movable cultural monuments. The rich cultural and historical heritage offers great potential for economic growth, increased employment and greater social In order to use this potential, investments are needed to preserve the cultural heritage and to revive part of it, so that it can be used by present and future generations. Modernization and renovation of the museum space and renovation of the museum expositions will provide prerequisites for the presentation of the cultural values of the museum in front of a wider range of stakeholders and to organize various events and exhibitions that attract new audiences. For the successful implementation of the project it is planned to implement key activities that will lead to the achievement of the set goals and results. The partnership with an organization from Norway will contribute to this. The following main results will be achieved within the project: - Strengthening the role that culture and cultural heritage play in local and regional development with an emphasis on employment, social inclusion and cultural entrepreneurship; -Participation of social, ethnic and cultural minorities and groups in cultural activities and improving their access to culture. -Creation of conditions for improving the access and popularization of the cultural heritage among the local communities. The implementation of the project activities will follow the principles of good governance, sustainable development, long-term economic growth, social cohesion and environmental protection.
Summary of project results
The project aims to renovate and revitalize the spaces in the two exhibition halls of the museum, open a depository for visitors, organize a new permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions, set up a museum shop, ensure accessibility to museum exhibits for people with disabilities, develop an entrepreneurial plan to promote the local cultural heritage and attract new audiences, as well as attract a children''s audience by creating educational materials.
The activities implemented under the project improved the conditions of managing and presenting the rich cultural heritage of the region of Pavlikeni, and helped the museum staff to increase their capacity and confidence for cultural enterpreunership, both through training activities and through the exchange of experience and good practices with the partner organization from Norway.
The contribution of the project was mainly in the process of strengthening the role that culture and cultural heritage play in local and regional development. It also supported the participation of social, ethnic and cultural minorities and groups in cultural activities and their access to culture. The main results achived include the creation of new exposition spaces that will attract more exhibitions related to different thematic areas. The museum library will have a beneficial effect on pupils, students and specialists with an interest in the past and art. The emphasis on unique and emblematic monuments, objects and cultural values related to the history of Bulgaria and the ancient world will attract the interest of a large number of visitors from different groups in the municipality. The full use of the renovated and revitalized halls and premises will support the connections between local schools, community centers and institutions and their active inclusion in the cultural activities, exhibitions and educational programs of interest in the Historical Museum - Pavlikeni. A good environment is now provided for activities in the museum, outdoors, for various open-air events, concerts and reenactments of customs from the local cultural identity.
Summary of bilateral results
The main result of the good bilateral cooperation during the implementation of the project between the beneficiary and the Norwegian partner was that the good practices of the Norwegian educational institution were applied in the museum''s activities, and on the other hand - a partnership network was created at the local level with the educational structures on the territory of the Pavlikeni Municipality. In this way, interest in historical heritage will be fostered in children and young people from an early age, which will guarantee not only attraction, but also sustainability of the group of adolescents.
