Summary of project results
The subject of the project is the organization of the Interdisciplinary Biennale of Art and Technology of the Future. As part of the Biennale, cultural and artistic events were organized, the common axis of which is the presentation and promotion of the work of artists using new technologies in their artistic practices and strategies.
As part of the project, the Culture Futura Biennale competition was announced. Out of 22 submitted works from Poland and beyond, they selected 11 works that were shown from October 18 to November 28 at the Małopolska Garden of Art. The opening of the exhibition was accompanied by a show of the play Game directed and performed by Dawid Lorenc, a representative of Carte Blanche of our partner institution (prepared during the residency). The performance was performed with audio description and translated simultaneously into sign language. A pioneering study on the accessibility of VR for people with visual disabilities was also carried out, the conclusions of which were presented in the form of a report at the Creative Industries Forum and on the website www.kultura-futura.pl. Curatorial tours were also held. The end and summary of the project was the Creative Industries Forum, where lectures related to VR were held. All lectures were translated into sign language, and people with visual disabilities also participated in them together with assistants.
As part of the project, the first edition of the Interdisciplinary Biennale of Art and Technology of the Future "Kultura Futura" was organized. The program axis of the Biennale was built so that the events taking place as part of the project became a platform for dialogue around concepts such as reality, virtuality and imagination. The theme of the Biennale is "ePOLIS – the city of the future". The organized cultural events were focused on the use of VR (Virtual Reality) technology, and the thematic context was determined by city-related issues. The key activity was the review of works submitted in the international competition, which were presented during the exhibition in the Małopolska Garden of Art. An element of the presentation of new technologies in art was also mapping on the Słowacki Theater, enabling the reception of art in the city space. The summary of the project was an open meeting for creative industries with the participation of industry representatives. An integral part of the project is the creation of an internet portal that serves to present new trends in building the future based on VR, AR, XR technologies.and other innovative solutions.
