Summary of project results

Main purpose of the project is to provide a better future for children from social disadvantaged backgrounds. We try our best to improve, teach and cultivate these children in various types of skills to guarantee better results at school. One of the ways in which we support them is by actively keeping in touch with their parents and updating them on their progress. We had 89 children under care and have been struggling to increase the numbers due to lack of recruitment. We have recently introduced a considerable number of new leisure activities and facilities for the children, which has really uplifted the atmosphere and has made them much happier. The afternoon Čhavore club for pre-school children, school training club for children preparing to enroll in a school and we provide sessions in the evening for the older children who are attending primary or secondary school. One recent initiative was to engage more experienced children to teach and train the younger and less experienced ones. We always try to look at every aspect of our student’s lives, from teaching them to eat healthy and how they can utilize their free time, to designing informative leaflets for children’s families and relatives. We found it difficult to keep in touch with some of the children who left our club and decided to focus on children who are planning to stay with us long term from 3 years until they finish their primary or secondary school. We strongly feel that we helped improve the lives of many children whom we took under care in project by emphasising on importance of regular attendance to school. The results showed a significant improve in the children’s attendance, behaviour in school and a great feedback from their teachers.
