Description

The project offers to the children in socially excluded families to grow in these families and prevent their removal. It also offers to the children already placed out of home to work on the return back home. If the child's return is not possible, it will support the contact between parent and child. The project will be implemented through a set of activities designed to support individual child in the family, individual child support in institutional care (reducing child deprivation, personality development) and to support of parents (parental skills, practical skills). It will support 35 children and 30 parents in total.

Summary of project results

Our long experience has shown that support for children in care and support for children in biological families in a difficult situation, it is very necessary. Also, we felt the need to link our existing expertise. The project aimed to support children in orphanages in developing their identity and self-determination. Further support children in families that are in difficult situations and also support their parents by changing the situation (changing their cours of action, strengthen their skills by child care, empower the relationship and communication with their children etc.). The project supported a total of 39 children and 31 adults (parents). With children in orphanages, we have worked intensively and individually in repeated socio-therapeutic and stays within our other contacts with children (DD visits, written communication, phonecalls etc). With children in families we have worked systematically by visiting the families home (chat, play) or by the implementation of other actions, such as a family stay in the mountains or a family outing. With the parents, we worked systematically visiting the families in their home and accompaniyng them by meetings in various institutions (strengthening communication skills, interview advice, training etc.). In addition, we continually inform the public about the implemented project so as to raise public awareness about the issue resolved. Supported people gain new experiences and acquire new skills (Children build self esteem, strengthen the sense of self-importance, the experience of solving conflict situations in a positive way. Parents: acquiring skills to successfully negotiate in office, strengthening parental self-esteem, new skills in communicating with the child etc.).
