Description

Project objective is to develop a new, fully automated prototype 3D construction and ordering on-line platform (technology) on which people with special needs could order a fully customizable and personified prototype of a new software and video game controller (keypad).

Summary of project results

No challenges were addressed.

The primary results of the project are the development of a new prototype 3D construction and ordering online platform prototype, facilitating the seamless ordering of keypad versions equipped with modules, and, secondly, the creation of keypad modules tailored to meet the needs of clients with disabilities, such as those with deformed fingers or palms.

In addition to the prototypes of the platform and the modules, Azeron strengthened its cooperation with the scientific institute "Kleisti" of Riga Stradiņš University (RSU). Scientists  of RSU tested the keypad modules - ergonomic measurements were carried out and experts analyzed data on the strain on the hand muscles when using the keypad with various modules developed within the project in comparision to standart QWERTY keyboard. Results of ergonomic testing are promising, Based on scientific test results Azeron devices with modules have proven the benefits for clients with dissabilities. Devices are more ergonomic, gamers (or other software users) arm muscles are not so strain. This project has facilitated the development of new modules suitable also for clients with dissabilities and how Azeron can help them not only to use devices but even before that – how to make keypad customization and ordering process easier.

Summary of bilateral results

To ensure successful integration of the module manufacturing into overall production Azeron had a consultations with experts from “KAIZEN INSTITUTE NORWAY” and received very useful suggestions and guidelines for future development. The project partner offered consulting services encompassing knowledge transfer, technological process development advisement, insights into process optimization, and guidance on the implementation of the most energy-efficient production methodologies available and suitable for Azeron production process. Two experts visited Azeron and spent three days diving deep into our production process. Azeron management and experts analysed production process in details - from how to incorporate new modules into our existing setup to finding solutions for potential issues and the perks Azeron could gain. After intense working sessions, on an online meeting was held to share the summary of results and steps to boost Azeron efficiency moving forward.
