Description
As part of this project, a prototype for an unmanned technology-equipped car will be developed, bringing together both autonomous and remote control technologies. This prototype will be developed in Latvia, but tested in Norway, the Herøya Industrial Park (HIP) area, integrating the Smart Flow Management (SFM) platform for route development and car shipment as well as coordination with HIP site sensor systems.
Summary of project results
There are no issues or chalenges faced during the project implementation.
The aim of this project was to create a new technology - an unmanned "follow me" car system - to route incoming transport into industrial parks. Developed technology aims to replace existing setup, where every incoming truck is guided by regular passenger car with a driver.
DVS-TRIP project demonstrations kick-starts the future autonomous pilot services for industrial parks and create interest from many. People came to see the demos and followed the demonstrations with great interest. Robot has been demonstrated for participants from the SAMS cluster Norway (Sustainable Autonomous Mobility System), professionals from Herøya Research Park and others.
As part of this project, a prototype of a car equipped with unmanned technologies was created at the TRL7 level of readiness. The solution provides automatic direction of unmanned transport flow through industrial parks. (play video).
The solution combined both autonomous and remote control technologies. This prototype has been piloted and tested in Norway at the Herøya Industrial Park (HIP), also integrating Smart Flow Management (SFM) platforms for route creation and car dispatch, as well as coordination with HIP area sensor systems.
Summary of bilateral results
GetUgo, Applied Autonomy and Herøya Industripark AS have carried out the first successful test run of a robot on wheels at Herøya''s test area. The project was carried out in close cooperation with Norwegian partners. In order to achieve the goal of the project, the Norwegian partners carried out the following activities and made the following contributions to the project:- Advise the project on the specifics of industrial parks,- Advise on specific prototype testing and necessary improvements,- Help implement necessary infrastructure changes.- Guidance and support for routing and monitoring solution integration and operation, coordination with sensor systems in Heroya Industrial Park- Knowledge transfer for sending a car on an optimal route, collecting car data and obtaining car reports.
