Description

The project aims to create a professional background for the Czech Association of Independent Theatres (AND ČR) and also to develop international cooperation and promote know-how exchange within the European Association of Independent Performing Arts (EAIPA). AND ČR was founded in 2016 and since then, it has become an important player in the field of cultural advocacy. The Council of AND ČR discusses strategic documents and legislation with public administration and also addresses specific needs of the Association members. The activities of the Association are voluntary, however, the Council members or member organisations’ representatives enter into negotiations that require high expertise. Thus, it is vital to strengthen the position of the Executive Manager, create a PR Manager post, set up a group of expert consultants for the Council (focusing on legislation, strategic documents, multi-source funding, labour law, status of an artist), and for the members (focusing on fundraising, accountancy, labour issues, leadership, strategic planning). The annual General Assemblies will include networking sessions focusing on education and practical skills development for the members. In the field of international cooperation, AND ČR acts as one of the founding members of EAIPA: it addresses current issues of European cultural policy, shares experience with other members and participates in the collection of data on the independent sector in the EU.

For this project, AND ČR will organise an EAIPA webinar discussing Current Conditions of Art Work in the Czech Republic and EU and an EAIPA conference discussing the Strategic and Legislative Framework of Culture in the Czech Republic and EU. These activities will be accessible to the general public on online platforms. The project aims to increase the expertise of the AND ČR Council and AND ČR members representatives, to make the Association more visible and to create an argumentative background based on international context.
