On 19–20 August representatives of the Directorate of Norwegian Correctional Service (KDI) will visit Latvia and together with representatives of Programme Operator and Programme Promoter will participate in LAMPA conversation festival. Also, a bilateral meeting will be organised, the aim of which will be to discuss the progress of Programme and Project and further bilateral cooperation. On 18–21 October mentor training "Use of training videos for training employees in a group" will take place in Latvia. Summary of the results
- Panellists of discussion "What is respect in sentence execution?" discussed the purpose of punishment and existing stereotypes in LV society and how in both countries the concept of simply locking a person in "four walls" and expecting them to change and reform has gradually changed over the years and the progress made. During the bilateral visit representatives of KDI visited the construction site of Training Centre and Open prison block. - During the training, 12 staff members Latvian correctional system at different levels learned of a new approach to the educational process (through training videos) and acquired new methods for working with groups, as well as the use of means of the e-learning platform and face-to-face training. – In Zagreb, representatives of Latvian and Croatian probation services expressed mutual commitment to facilitate cooperation between both countries and their probation services, and subsequent visits were planned for 2022 to both countries. - Representatives of Programme Operator and KDI were given the latest update on Project implementation, and the delegation then visited the now-closed Brasa Prison in Riga, and later met his excellency ambassador of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Riga, Christian Ødegaard. - Sworn auditor "AKTĪVS TALSI" SIA (Ltd) prepared a report on findings on the eligibility of expenditure of Programme''s Bilateral Fund for 2020. There were no non-compliances found.
