Description

The aim of the project is to strengthen both the capacities of the applicant and the capacities of its members. This goal will be achieved by January 31st, 2023 by accomplishing the following: A) media visibility of the applicant and its 13 members on the domestic and foreign music scene, B) professionalization of professional and managerial services of 3 employees and 2 representatives of the applicant and 13 Roma music groups, C) establishing international cooperation with a Norwegian partner in the field of music and transfer of international experience. The project has 1 partner from Norway and 2 partners from the Czech Republic. Within the project, 5 project activities will be implemented: 1) media coverage of the association and its members, 2) management in culture, 3) international cooperation, 4) exchange of know-how, 5) management and publicity. There are two target groups: 1) 3 employees of the association and 13 Roma music members of the association and 2)the general public in the Czech Republic and abroad, the professional cultural community and Roma music and non-music artists (non-members of the association). The project outputs will be: 9 video clips, online consultations with a Norwegian partner, coaching, lectures and a workshop, and the participation of the association and selected members in Norway at the festival. The innovation aspect of the project is the fact that the applicant involves within its activities experts in the field of PR, advertising, grant and subsidy consulting, finance, music promotion, organizing cultural events, etc. with the goal of professionalizing Roma music artists. In addition, these experts will be teamed with Romani music artists, who usually cannot find their way to these experts and need their services to develop their cultural activities.

Summary of project results

Project was aimed at supporting beginning and semi-professional Roma music artists. Aim was to increase their media visibility on domestic and international music scene. This goal was achieved thanks to 2 professional seminars aimed at expanding knowledge in the technical field (sound and light), cultural management (promotion, financial instruments), production of videoclips, media promotion on the Internet and in the press. Roma music artists have gained more insight into the cultural sphere.

Project was aimed at professionalization of professional and managerial services of applicant''s representatives and 13 Roma music artists. We focused on developing skills in areas such as management, leadership, including the implementation of seminars, coaching and other forms. Each artist was assigned coach to help analyze their development plans. At workshop, applicant representatives trained participants on how to improve their cultural management skills, particularly in areas of PR, advertising, grant and subsidy advice, finance, music promotion and cultural event organisation, and in technical areas dealing with basics of sound, lighting, video and audio skills. This seminar was followed by implementation of second seminar, which included a workshop on music management at international level.

The applicant''s representatives travelled to Norway to visit the project partner and established international cooperation. Afterwards, 2 training seminars were held for beginning and semi-professional Roma music artists. Coaching of selected music artists for making music videos and trailers promoting also Association of Roma Music Artists took place.

Summary of bilateral results

International cooperation in the field of music and the transfer of international experience was established with the Norwegian partner Kultur Bryter Grenser, especially during a personal visit to Norway, which was attended by 7 representatives of the applicant. This visit was followed by further activities aimed at exchanging information and know-how through seminars and webinars. The Norwegian partner is active in the field of music and also focuses on the possibilities of using cultural activities as a link in international cooperation and in tackling social inequalities in the countries.
