Summary of project results

The main goal of the project was to create an effective and sustainable platform for encouragement of the diversity in culture and arts by ensuring wide community access to cultural forms and content. It needed to provide a complex of synergic activities and create an opportunity for development and improvement of the capacity of the cultural operators involved, as well as facilitate the strengthening of the bilateral relations and cultural diversity. The activities had to attract new audiences in the peripheral urban areas and smaller localities in Bulgaria, to encourage balanced territorial development in terms of culture and promotion of entrepreneurship by encompassing four peripheral districts in the city of Plovdiv – the “Komatevo” neighborhood, the “Stolipinovo” neighborhood, District “Zapaden” and District “Trakia”, as well as 4 smaller localities situated in different administrative areas in the country – the towns of Asenovgrad, Batak, Koprivshtitsa and Nova Zagora.

Within the project, four two-day events under the title "Mobile creative network" were held at the local level in the city of Plovdiv, as well as four two-day events at the regional level in the cities of Asenovgrad, Batak, Nova Zagora and Koprivshtitsa to improve access to arts and culture. The project provided opportunities to amateur artists to be actively involved in the creative initiatives of the "Mobile Creative Network". Cultural areas peripheral to the city center were created within the city of Plovdiv and awareness was improved and access to arts and culture for a wide audience was ensured, incl. of ethnic and minority groups (including those of Roma origin). The project built a sustainable partnership network of cultural figures and young artists.

The project implemented trainings to increase the capacity of the project promoter''s expert staff and improved its expertise. One of the goals of the project, which was successfully achieved, was to give an opportunity to amateurs and non-professional artists to perform by involving them directly in the creative initiatives. The access to art and culture of the citizens and guests of the city of Plovdiv was improved as events were held in the outskirts of the urban centers.
