OBJECTIVE:
The goal of the project is to familiarize the Polish audience with Norwegian and Icelandic culture and to establish a Polish-Norwegian partnership in the field of cinematography addressed to the youngest audience. These goals will be achieved through a program for the development of documentary cinema for the young audience in Poland, and popularizing niche elements of art of the North countries, including works of artists representing national minorities, which have not yet been shown in Poland.
OPERATIONAL GOALS:
1) The educational part:
- Popularizing valuable documentary films for young viewers in Poland;
- Developing competences of artists, educators and parents;
- Establishing business contacts between creators from Poland and Norway;
2) The artistic part:
- Creating a space for artistic dialogue between artists from Northern European countries;
- Showing the audience how the traditions and local stories of Northern European regions change in multicultural societies and mix with the products of pop culture.
EVENTS:
1) The educational part:
- Workshops for creators from Poland and Norway: 12 documentary film-makers will be trained, who will then take part in a networking meeting with the international industry;
- Review of documentaries for the young audience (IX 2022) / Warsaw during MFF Kino Dzieci - online on the festival''s platform for the audience in Poland: Norwegian films along with several works from Sweden and Finland. The review will be accompanied by a conference for parents and educators;
- Educational film screenings (X 2022 - VI 2023) - cinemas in several dozen cities in Poland; an online platform for schools. 7 films selected from the review of documentaries for the young audience will be presented.

Summary of project results
The context for the interdisciplinary part of "White Nights" is the low knowledge of cinema and Norwegian and Icelandic culture in general in Poland,as well as the need to include national minorities in the cultural life. This part of the project will popularize niche andelements of art from the Northern countries that have not been shown before in Poland, including the work of artists representing national minorities.
The aim of the project is to bring Norwegian and Icelandic culture closer to the Polish audience, to create a Polish-Norwegian partnership inin the field of cinematography aimed at the youngest audience, as well as promoting values such as tolerance,equal rights, awareness of cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue.
The project included events:1) educational part:- WORKSHOPS FOR CREATORS FROM POLAND AND NORWAY (the entire duration of the project)/Poland, Norway; online (consultations):12 documentary filmmakers will be trained, who will then take part in a networking meeting with the international industry.- REVIEW OF DOCUMENTARY FILMS FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES (IX.2022)/Warsaw during the Kino Dzieci IFF; online on the platformfestival for viewers in Poland: Norwegian films supplemented with several titles from Sweden and Finland. The review will be accompanied byconference for parents and educators.- EDUCATIONAL FILM SHOWS (October 2022-June 2023)/cinemas in several dozen cities in Poland; online platform for schools: 7 titlesselected from the documentary film screening program for young audiences.2) artistic part (21-1/10/2022)/Wrocław during the 22nd New Horizons IFF (21-31/07/2022), the exhibition part will last untilOctober 1, 2022; online on the New Horizons festival platform for viewers in Poland:- NORTHERN EUROPEAN CINEMA REVIEW (latest and classic works). The screenings will include lectures or discussions after the filmscreators and experts of Northern European cinema.- PANEL DISCUSSION with the participation of invited experts from Iceland, Norway and Poland,- ETHNIC MUSIC CONCERT - with the participation of musicians from Poland and Norway,- VISUAL ARTS EXHIBITION - with the participation of artists from Poland, Norway and Iceland,Artists (filmmakers, visual artists, musicians) from northern European countries (Norway,Iceland, Poland), who reinterpret old rituals in their works and combine folklore and pop culture.
A mission is to popularize and disseminate artistic cinema. The association enters all its projects ina comprehensive audience development strategy based on multidimensional work with viewers of all ages, and adaptsoffer and tools for specific target groups.The implementation of the strategy is based on: the nationwide New Horizons of Film Education program (implemented in 90 cities and online),Film Academies (held at the Nowe Horyzonty cinema in Wrocław), Kino Dzieci, Nowe Horyzonty andAmerican Film Festival, as well as distribution, training and industry programs.Work with the viewer begins with preschool children, who, through the Kino Dzieci festival and throughout the year as part ofthe so-called mornings and an educational program for schools and kindergartens, are offered valuable and at the same time adapted tocentury movies.The association also works with guardians of young viewers, shaping them through workshops, conferences and teaching materials,that build habits of talking to children about the films they watch and challenging them in their development by selecting valuable onescinemas. This applies to both parents and teachers.The association, taking care of the development of viewers, also works comprehensively with other groups that indirectly contribute to the developmentthe audience - primarily with the creators (international co-production events accompanying all festivals,workshop programs) and cinema representatives (conferences and training).
