Description
The project creates a system of active detection of endangered children based on a close cooperation of schools, nonprofit organizations and the local authority. The project includes early identification of the problem, activation and motivation of the family to solve and subsequently eliminate it by a combination of the family's own potentials and available services in district. Detection is based on a close cooperation with first class teachers and realized in district Kladno. The target group consists of 6-7-year-old children and their families. The secondary target group is first class teachers, who get support and reinforced qualification. The project will have a tight cooperation with the local authority. Methodology of active detection in schools and the following service, as the complex system in primary prevention, will be elaborated and published. The project enhances the skills of teachers, public education activities and improves the skills of the parents in the district. The cooperation and mutual support among organizations will ultimately benefit the entire district.
Summary of project results
In the framework of the project a service of Active detection of vulnerable children and subsequent work with children and their families was implemented. We created the project based on analys and experience which we gained during our activities in region. Kladno district was the eleventh riskiest in terms of children at risk. The project was based on prevention of threats to the family (removing a child from the family), the early detection of families at risk and assistance in solving the problem. Up to this point, the Kladno district didn´t have a system of detecting children at risk to such an extent. The goal of the project was to create and verify a system of active detection of children at risk in the context of systematic cooperation between schools, NGO´s and government institutions and ensure cooperation between organizations that provide services for families with children in the Kladno district. Main outputs of the project are methodics „Primární prevence ohrožení dětí 1. tříd ZŠ“ and methodics „Centrum pro rodinu VEGA Kladno“. Tools were also created for implementation of specific activity (annexes of methodics) and outputs (reports). Besides these documents, an information brochure was created – „Guide to professions, institutions and services dedicated to the care of families and children". During the project implementation we managed to bring benefits to all set target groups. The expected results were achieved in terms of the evaluating of statistics and feedback from all target groups from all activities. OPS Sirius started activities to support the expansion of services for active detection and guideposting (Regional Office of Central Bohemian Region, Regional Office of Karlovy Vary Region).
