Project "School of Our Dreams - How not to be lonely at school?" results from needs diagnosed during Konin Educational Congress (June 2019, 200 participants: representatives of loc. govern., school principals, teachers, parents, students, psycholog., educators). Congress participants confirmed urgent need to change educational offer. The need to strengthen student-teacher, teacher-teacher, student-student, teacher-parent relationship was indicated, as well as introduction of new teaching methods that facilitate building relationships and learning mutual needs, while engaging entire school community in change. Main goal of the project is to improve quality and adjust the educational offer at all levels, starting from early childhood educ. and in all forms. It will be achieved, i.a, through cooper. and exchange of best practices between partners. The effect will be implementation of change in work culture in school in Konin. It will be a pilot project, implemented in the period 1.04.2022-31.12.2023. Konin school will implem. relationship-based education, that favors development of students and whole school community, both in the conditions of full-time, distance and hybrid education. Norwegian partner: Newschool AS and Polish partners: CDN and KSS SPEKTRUM will participate in the project. Performed tasks are: new teaching methods training mobility in Norway, events promoting and implementing project results, includ. workshops in Konin and Educational Congress. Participants of project activities will be 25-person group (Organizing authority-3, from 1 school – manager. staff, teachers, parents-13, students-4, CDN-3, KSS-2). While end users are students of all ages. The results are "Package of Inspirations" and pedagogical innovation. Project with a long-term impact. Potential benefits - implementation of new forms and methods of cooper., work programs and projects facilitating the recognition of needs and building relationships.
Summary of project results
School of Our Dreams -How not to be lonely at school? project responded to the challenges of outdated teaching methods, lack of relationships in sch. and the impact of the pandemic on education in Konin.The aim was to bring about sustainable changes in the working culture of sch., based on relationships that foster student and school community development.A key tool was the use of the design thinking method to enable effective transformation of educational processes.
The project consisted of a two-phase exchange of experiences and workshops with the Norwegian partner Newschool.The design thinking method was introduced as a tool to change the working culture, the organisation of school work was adapted and teaching and communication methods were developed.A key aspect was the concern for pupils'' wellbeing through the development of coping skills and design thinking.
Project team consisted of representatives from the leader and partners, as well as participants from Konin Secondary School II.The training mobility in Oslo focused on a design thinking workshop, which kick-started the development of the ''Inspiration Package'' scenario.Collaboration with Newschool enabled the development of a mixed pedagogical innovation, changing the working practices and organisational culture of the school."The Inspiration Package" included scenarios for educational activities, building relationships between students, teachers and parents. Additional survey of feelings of safety and loneliness in Konin sch. was carried out, providing information on education-related problems and potentials.
Innovations such as ''Oasis Room''and ''Learning Journal'' were developed and implemented as part of the ''Inspiration Package''.An interactive exhibition ''It can be done differently'' was also conducted, symbolically representing the problems of the traditional grading system.
Project has significantly improved the situation of the beneficiaries, developing social skills and DT.Results of the pr. are widely disseminated, both through training, conferences and social media.The Inspiration Pack is available to sch. in the region, supporting sustainable changes in approaches to educ.The long-term impact of the project incl. inspiration for teachers and sch., encouraging continuous improvement and adaptation of innovations.The implementation of the Learning Log application in a specific educational instit. and the interest of other teachers indicates the practical application of project''s achievements
Summary of bilateral results
Cooperation with the Norwegian partner, Newschool AS, enabled the introduction of design thinking methodologies, the adaptation of school work organisation and the development of social competences of students and school staff. The training mobility in Oslo enabled the know-how and experience of Newschool to be acquired, which translated into improved project effectiveness. Above all, thanks to Newschool''s experience and expertise, it was possible to introduce an innovative teaching method - design thinking. This advanced technique, which allows for problem-solving and creative thinking, has become a key tool for transforming educational processes. Through a training mobility in Oslo, the project participants had the opportunity to learn the method in a practical workshop, which enabled them to start working on an ''Inspiration Pack'' containing scenarios for educational activities. The partnership with Newschool has had a wider effect in terms of developing knowledge and understanding of education. Through the exchange of experience and collaboration with subject matter experts, project participants were able to adapt best practice from the field of educational innovation. The main outcomes were new teaching methods, improved relationships and the development of social competences. The work on the ''Inspiration Package'' and the ''Pedagogical Innovation'' contributed to lasting changes in one Konin school. Cooperation with Newschool not only contributed to improving the quality of education in Konin, but also enabled the development of project participants'' competences and the adaptation of best educational practices. The Norwegian partner, Newschool AS, brought relevant experience and expertise, supporting the project by providing methodology and organising workshops, which contributed to the achievement of the project goals and long-term benefits for education in Konin.
